Vocational Skills
Our goal is to increase access to quality vocational skills for youth. In partnership with organizations like the Van doorn Foundation students receive scholarships to undertake different vocational skills at Pacer Community Vocational College in Pakwach district. Other students benefit from tools purchased for the college by Tools to Work. The tools include sewing machines, circular saws, welding machines, and drilling machines.
Goal: Improve capacity of BTVET to deliver quality instruction
- Link BTVET institutions to providers of instructional materials and equipment
- Train instructors in participatory teaching methods
- Empower college principals with good leadership skills
Goal: Increase enrolment rates in secondary and post primary vocational / technical training institutions increased
- Mass sensitization campaign on the importance and value of education
- Advocate for establishment of more USE and community polytechnics
- Advocate for diversification of programs through Skilling Uganda
Goal: Completion rates in vocational institutions increased
- Action research and dissemination on effectiveness of Skilling Uganda
