The Education Local Expertise Centre Uganda (ELECU) is a local Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) that focuses on improving the quality ofbasic education.
ELECU was founded in 2010 and registered with the NGO Bureau.
Our Strategy
The Goal
Enhance the quality of basic education in Uganda throughteacher effectiveness, community involvement, and improvedlearner outcomes. This involves increasing access to qualityeducation, enhancing teacher pedagogy and child protection,improving skills provision for youth, promoting communityinvolvement, and strengthening institutional capacity.
The vision
A prosperous Uganda where all children have access to qualitybasic education. We exist to ensure Improved Quality BasicEducation in Uganda for Sustainable Livelihoods.
How we work
ELECU interventions are guided by the adoption of the Edukans STAR school approach and address each of the five key components of a good school namely, teaching, learning, community participation, school environment, leadership and governance, and other cross-cutting issues which include child protection, gender, disability, and child participation.
Where we work
ELECU operates all over Uganda while focusing on the most marginalised communities in emergencies and development contexts. ELECU will be extending its services to Gulu.
