Gender Responsive Education and Child Protection in the Refugee and Host Communities in West Nile (GREP-WN)

ELECU in partnership with Plan International is implementing the ECW-funded gender-responsive Education project in 8 schools in Bidibidi and the host community.

Comprehensive Primary Education for Refugee girls and boys

This is a Fast Emergency Response (FER) targeting the refugee influx in Nakivale settlement. The project aims to Improved Access and Retention to Inclusive and Gender, TransformativeLearning and Training Opportunities. It uses the mother-to-mother (M2M) approach to facilitate access and retention of girls and boys in schools.

Play Matters – Sparking Life Long Learning through Play Program

In partnership with International Rescue Committee (IRC), ELECU enhances Learning through Play in Primary schools and ECD centers in Rhino settlement; Madi Okollo District.

We aim to reach 13,926 Learners, 191 Teachers, 10 Schools, 10 communities, 4,642 Parents, 240 Community Leaders and 10 System Actors through this intervention.

Participatory teaching and learning

Through several projects like Teaching With Impact, Monitoring, Sharing and Improving and Integrated Rights to Education and Participation Project (IREAP), ELECU has implemented participatory teachingand learning projects with NORAD, Save the Children, Edukans Foundation and the Uganda Ministry of Education and Sports, while targeting artisans, youth male and female.

Skilling Youth with Disability

In partnership with Wilde Ganzen, Vandoorn Foundation and Pacer Community Polytechnic, the project is expected to create opportunities for deaf youth in Pakwach district to become self-reliant throughvocational skills and entrepreneurship training at Pacer Polytechnic.

BRIDGE: From Secondary Education and Skills Development to Job Opportunities for Refugee and Host Community Youth in Uganda

The project is funded by the Mastercard Foundation for Increased access to market-relevant secondary and tertiary education and skills for refugee and host community youths of Nakivale, Rwamwnja,and Kyangwali.
